The Lamar University history department is seeking an entry-level, tenure-track assistant professor with Ph.D. degree in history in hand by August 2005, with fields and interests in 19th c. American history, who will assist with responsibilities for teacher preparation (8-12). Public school teaching experience, while not required, is desirable. Teaching responsibilities include survey courses, courses that support the training of history teachers in secondary schools, upper level, and graduate courses. Scholarly research and publications expected.
