regarding Women and the Welfare State Bibliography:
A few months ago I asked for references relating to women and the
welfare state for a bibliography that I was compiling. A number
of you responded to my enquiry,for which I thank you, and also
suggested that I might share the bibliography with the list which
I am doing now.
The bibliography is by no means comprehensive. I have organized
it into five major categories:
a) women and political representation - Canada;
b) women's organizations in Canada;
c) women and the welfare state , 1860-pre WWII - Canada;
d) women and the welfare state, 1860- pre WWII - US and otherinternational;
e) women and the welfare state, post WWII - Canada
As you can see my main area of interest is women and the state in
Canada (particularly post WWII).
Cheers,
Pam Roper
