Reina Pennington is a former Air Force officer and specialist in Soviet
aviation; she worked as an intelligence officer in F-4 and F-16
squadrons, as the Aggressor Intelligence Officer at the Air Force
Fighter Weapons School, and as an analyst for the Defense Intelligence
Agency and Alaskan Air command. She is now completing a PhD in History
at the University of South Carolina; her dissertation topic is a
comparative study of women in military aviation in the Second World War
in the Soviet Union, United States, and United Kingdom. She is also
editor of MILITARY WOMEN WORLDWIDE: A BIOGRAPHICAL DICTIONARY, a survey
of military women throughout history, in progress with Greenwood
Press.
