Herman Diederiks Prize
In honour of its founder and first president, the IAHCCJ has instituted an award for an original article, in the field of the history of crime and criminal justice broadly conceived, written by a scholar at the beginning of his or her academic career. Within the field, there are no limitations on the subject. The article, however, must be in French or English and must not have been previously published. The award-winning article will be assured of publication in the journal. In addition, the Maison des Sciences de l'Homme offers the winner a stay of one month in Paris, for study purposes.
Anyone wishing to have a paper considered for the 2004 prize should send it as an article to the Editor of Crime, Histoire & Sociétés/Crime, History & Societies and should note this clearly in an accompanying letter (see address below). The deadline for sending an article is 15th June 2009; papers sent after this date will be considered the following year. The editorial board of CHS serves as jury.
