"Beyond Gum San: A History of the Chinese in Nevada" will be at the
Nevada State Museum and Historical Society, 700 Twin Lakes Drive, Las
Vegas, Nevada, phone (702) 486-5205 from May 18, 1996 through June, 1997.
Funded by the Nevada Humanities Committee and NEH, the exhibit includes
numerous photographs, including a Chinese cowboy dressed in white on a
white horse from Elko, Nevada, and a 1880s fortune teller from Dayton, as
well as the Zhigongtang altar from Eureka and other artifacts. If you are
