Studies Center is a "a new research and programmatic center at UC Berkeley
devoted to the study of the State of California." The site has information
about the center and its offerings and events at Cal.
Center for California Studies: At
California State University, Sacramento. "Dedicated to promoting a
better understanding of California's government, politics, peoples, cultures
and history." Contains information on various aspects of the university's
program and links to its affiliated programs, such as the Institute for
Research on Women and Families.
The Society of California Archivists: Information about this "professional association devoted to the support and development of individuals and institutions that collect, care for, and provide access to the documentary heritage of California and adjoining areas."
The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Historical Society of Northern California focuses on the collection and preservation of the historical life of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities of Northern California. Includes a listing of collections, many of which are available in the San Francisco Public Library.
Information System for Los Angeles (ISLA): A project currently under development at the University of Southern California, ISLA is a digital research archive of Los Angeles materials in multiple information formats for the purpose of research, teaching, and public access.
The California Institute for Rural Studies is a nonprofit research organization dedicated to "a rural California that is socially just, ecologically balanced, and economically sustainable."
