In co-operation with Thomas Farago (Hungary), I am organising a session
on "Foreigners and urban space" at the IV International Conference on
Urban History, to be held in Budapest 29-31 August 1996.

I am interested in receiving proposals about the shape, physical
character, topography, architectural quality of the urban districts of
the foreigners (from a national and/or ethnic point of view) in the European
city (XV-XVIII centuries).

The session (papers and discussion) will be bilingual: French and English.

Those who wish to offer a paper should send an outline before the 1st
November 1995 to me or to Prof. Farago.

We shall make a selection from the offered papers by January 1996. Those
selected must send their text (15 pages) before the 1st May 1996: one
copy to one of the chair-persons and one to Prof. Vera Backskai,
organiser of the whole Conference.
