The National Archives of Ireland is now accessible on the Internet.

Our World Wide Web pages now have information on the following subjects:

General information about the National Archives

Sources for family history and genealogy

Sources for women's history

Sources for Famine research

There are searchable indexes to files released from the Department of the
Taoiseach (Prime Minister's Department) in 1995 under the National Archives
Act and to Penal Transportation Records, relating to those sentenced to
transportation during the years 1790- 1868. There are also links from our
