Note: In response to the two messages below and to any other H-Albion
subscribers who were wondering: the recent job posting for the position in
Japan was passed on in haste without proper scrutiny. The age limit is
indeed discriminatory and should not have been posted.
My apologies. -- RBG

A recent announcement carried on H-Albion for a job in Japan had an age
limit of 35 for applicants. Is carrying an ad with such age
discrimination legal within the United States? I doubt if the net would
have carried it had the advertisement said that no persons of colour should
apply.

Question: Why the discrimination on age?
