AFRICAN HISTORY
1) West African History--University of Virginia
West African History. The Department of History at the University of
Virginia intends to add a specialist, effective the 1996-97 academic
year, to teach a normal load centering around undergraduate and
graduate instruction in the history of western Africa. We expect to
appoint at the rank of assistant professor (tenure-track, PhD in
hand). An ability to contribute to broader teaching in African
history and comparative history, including some aspect of
African-American history would also be desirable. Salary will be at
entry level, or commensurate with qualifications and experience.

full resume, name/addresses of referees, but not letters of
reference, and an indication of availability to interview at the 1995
annual meeting of the African Studies Association [Orlando], Nov. 2-6)
