H-Net Testimonials
When I was teaching history in independent boarding schools for 42 years, H-Net came to provide me with the most important, crucial, ongoing professional contacts I had. Now that I am retired and on the WHA Teaching Committee this is still true and, if anything, even more urgent. Furthermore, I believe H-Net to be invaluable for young teachers still attempting to master both content and craft under increasingly taxing conditions - a group which I am desperately interested in helping. --Jack Betterly
Working in a very isolated environment, H-Net provides with a window onto the work of my colleagues, who share their expertise with me. --Gail Chin, University of Regina
Living in a rural Arkansas, this service allows me to be in touch with the world of letters and events --Anonymous
The Oral History listserv has been of tremendous value to me, especially when I was involved in community history projects. It's a terrific way to connect to those around the country as well as other countries and not feel isolated. Having access to professional and scholarly opinions about equipment and oral history issues was truly beneficial. I still follow many discussions from a librarian perspective now, as I am currently a graduate student in library and information science. --Anonymous
The discussions are interesting and help me stay connected to the broader field of Asian Studies. I also enjoy the reviews, and the job listings have been very helpful to me here in the early stages of my career. --Charles Musgrove

The scope of services H-Net provides is amazing: timely job postings, books reviews, quick-response expert resource to questions, notice of potentially interesting conferences and calls for papers. I do interdisciplinary research and subscribe to several listservs; though they vary somewhat in quality, I rely on all of them to keep me current. A great resource for students, the public, and faculty. --Anonymous
Since I am at a small college that has no other Asian experts, I have found the discussions, announcements, and information that I have received through H-Asia to be invariably helpful and informative. By giving me daily access to a larger community of Asian specialists, it has ameliorated feelings of scholarly isolation that I might have felt otherwise. --Keith Knapp, The Citadel
With H-Net I keep in constant touch with colleagues, an ideal network for a historian retired from teaching. --Gerd Korman, Cornell
As a retired professor who continues to do research and write, I find your reviews make sure I am aware of a wide range of current scholarship. --Dorothy Helly, Hunter College
