H-Net ist eine internationaler und interdisziplinärer Verbund von Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschafltlern, der das Ziel hat, das Potential des Internets für Forschung und Lehre nutzbar zu machen. Die Fachredaktionen betreuen über 100 Mailinglisten und Websites und veröffentlichen regelmäßig Artikel, Rezensionen, multimediale Materialien und Diskussionsbeiträge für die interessierte Öffentlichkeit. Das Rechenzentrum von H-Net ist ein Teil von MATRIX, dem Online-Center für die Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften an der Michigan State Universität (MSU).
