CFP: Mid-Atlantic Popular Culture/American Culture Association Conference (activism)
|
Popular Culture and Activism welcomes papers/panels/presentations from academics and students related to activism and popular culture from both an American and an international perspective. We recognize that across the globe people have taken to activist movements, and we are accordingly particularly interested in papers that investigate activism in the 21st century. We are equally interested in papers that investigate activism across disciplines and across national boundaries:
We encourage proposals that investigate, among other areas:
Activism and the Wall Street phenomenon
Media representations of activism
Gender and activism
History of activism/activism in the past
Activism in the social media environment
Please send your one-page abstract (250 words) and a short bio by June 15th , 2012 to:
Metasebia Woldemariam and Laurie Selleck at
