The Graduate Student English Association of Arizona State University is currently soliciting panel and paper abstracts for the 15th annual Southwest Graduate English Symposium. This year’s theme is Transform, Transmute, Transgress: Blurring the Boundaries of Material Culture. We welcome undergraduate and graduate submissions on a variety of topics, including but not limited to:

Literature and the “canon” - Linguistics and languages - Rhetoric and Composition - ESL - Philosophy - Psychology and Sociology - New History - Pedagogy - Literacy - Religion - Feminism - Queer Theory - Transgender Studies - Disability Studies - Performance Studies - Body Politics - Ethnic Studies - CRT - Multi-culturalism - Post/Colonialism - Border Studies - Issues of Aging - Film Studies - Visual Arts - The Avant-garde (theater, film, etc.) - Technology Issues

The conference will take place March 27th and 28th, 2009, at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.

The deadline for panel proposals has been extended to February 15th, 2009. Proposals should be no more than 500 words.
The deadline for paper abstracts has been extended to February 15th, 2009. Abstracts should be between 250-500 words.
