The Education Technology Grants Research program funds projects to develop or evaluate education technology tools that improve student learning in math, science, or reading/writing, or tools that improve teacher quality. The technology should be appropriate for use in education delivery settings. Funding levels vary depending on the goal of the project, but can be multi-year and in the $1 to $2+ million range overall. Applications are due November 1. The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program provides funds for profit small businesses (500 employees or less) to develop and evaluate cutting edge education technology products. The 2008 RFP for this program will likely be available in November 2007, and proposals will likely be due in January, 2008. Awards can be up to 2 ½ years and in amounts of up to $850K.
